Our DSOC Speakers
Mrs. Judy Finnessy - President, Denver Society of Creation
Judy Finnessy is a “grandma grizzly” when it comes to teaching our children how
to defend their faith. (She has three grown children, and six grandchildren.) She
holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Accounting from Wartburg College.
Judy has spent over forty years holding various positions in IT Architecture and
Project Management with John Deere, and now that she has retired, has devoted
herself to studying creation apologetics and its impact on the faith of our
children. Since 2015, she has been intensely involved in creation apologetics,
culminating in a week-long Creation Apologetics Teachers College taught by
Creation Training Initiative in 2016. She has facilitated a small group study of
Genesis 1-11, taught Sunday school classes on creation and been a speaker for
adult Bible study classes. She is the founder and President of the Denver Society
of Creation.
Judy is a member of Mt Zion Lutheran Church in Denver She is involved in
Lutherans for Life, Denver, and has served as a past Secretary. She has a love
for Christian music and serves as the music director and pianist for the Tin Cup
Community Chapel during the summer months. She has also assisted with fund
raising events for Love INC, Littleton.
In addition to being certified by CTI, Judy has also been certified as a
“Biblical Creation Ministry Professional” by the International Association
for Creation.

In the Beginning, God…
Mr. Don Gilbreath is a Senior Process Development Engineer at
Gates Corporation. He has been at Gates Corporation for 30 years,
and is a mechanical engineer who holds fifteen granted patents.
Don enjoys working on breakthrough products that no one
else in the industry has marketed. He has developed products
such as crimp fittings for large ID high pressure oil rig hoses and
hose connectors such as sthe inovative Gates iLok.
Don received both a B.S and an M.S in Mechanical Engineering
from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
He has had a passion for creation apologetics for most
of his adult life, and attended the CTI Creation Apologetics
Teachers College in 2017. He is a member of the Board of Directors
of the Denver Society of Creation.
Don lives in Castle Rock, CO, with his wife of 37 years. He is a
father of four and a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church
in Castle Rock.
Mr. Jim Finnessy - Special Advisor to the Board
Jim Finnessy is a father of three and a grandfather
of six. He enjoys family and life. Prior to
retirement, Jim worked as a Supervisor and
Production Engineer with the John Deere Harvester
Works in Moline, Illinois. He was also a realtor
for several years.
Jim holds a degree in History and Education from the
University of Northern Iowa, and taught junior
high students in Lakewood, CO, for three years.
He has joined Judy to assist with the formation
of the Denver Society of Creation, out of concern
for our culture and society, and a desire to be an
example of love and faith to his children
and grandchildren. According to his oldest
grandson, “He really loves
God, and that’s for sure!”
Jim completed the CTI Creation Apologetics
Teachers College in 2017. He is a member of
Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Denver, CO.
